1. About this Policy

This Policy explains how SIA Jar-Jom (“we”, “us”, “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on ctrlshiftgames.store (the “Site”), and how you can control them.

It applies the requirements of Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive (2002/58/EC, as amended by 2009/136/EC) as transposed into applicable national law, together with the consent standard in Articles 4(11) and 7 of the GDPR (Regulation (EU) 2016/679).

Please read this Policy together with our Privacy Policy [LINK], which explains how we handle personal data generated through cookies and similar technologies, and our Terms & Conditions [LINK].

2. What We Mean by “Cookies”

A cookie is a small text file stored on your device when you visit a website.

Article 5(3) ePrivacy applies to any storing of information on, or gaining of access to information already stored on, your terminal equipment — not just traditional cookies.

Following EDPB Guidelines 2/2023 on the technical scope of Article 5(3), this Policy therefore also covers:

  • Local storage, session storage and IndexedDB

  • Pixels, tracking beacons and tracking URLs

  • SDKs and server-side / CAPI tagging, including where identifiers are set server-side

  • Device and browser fingerprinting, including where used for fraud prevention

  • IP-based tracking and unique identifiers embedded in URLs

Cookies we set directly are known as first-party cookies. Cookies set by services or providers we use are known as third-party cookies.

Cookies may also be:

  • Session cookies, which are deleted when your browser closes; or

  • Persistent cookies, which remain on your device for a specified period.

3. When We Need Your Consent

Under Article 5(3) ePrivacy, we may store or read information on your device without consent only where it is:

  1. carried out solely to transmit a communication over a network; or

  2. strictly necessary to provide a service you have explicitly requested.

Other technologies — such as analytics, A/B testing, advertising, affiliate attribution, session replay and most social or embedded media — require your prior consent where applicable.

“Strictly necessary” is interpreted narrowly. Analytics technologies are not treated as strictly necessary merely because they are useful to us and will not be activated before consent where consent is legally required.

Where a cookie or similar technology also involves the processing of personal data based on consent, our lawful basis under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR is your consent.

4. How Consent Works on This Site

Before you make a choice, only strictly necessary cookies and technologies are activated. Non-essential analytics, advertising, affiliate or similar technologies are blocked until the appropriate consent has been provided.

Our cookie consent mechanism is designed so that:

RequirementHow We Address It
Prior consentNon-essential technologies are blocked until you consent
Freely givenYou can use the Site and complete a purchase after rejecting non-essential cookies
SpecificWhere applicable, you can make choices by cookie category
InformedInformation about purposes, providers and durations is made available before you choose
Affirmative actionNothing is pre-ticked; scrolling or continuing to browse does not constitute consent
Reject as easy as acceptA “Reject all” option is available alongside “Accept all”
No deceptive designConsent options are presented clearly without intentionally misleading design
WithdrawalYou can change or withdraw your consent through the “Cookie settings” option
Proof of consentWe record relevant consent information for compliance purposes

Consent Duration

Your cookie preference is stored for 6 months, after which we may ask you to make your choices again.

We may also request consent again if we introduce a materially new purpose, provider or technology that requires consent.

If you reject non-essential cookies, we will not intentionally ask you again on every visit. The banner will generally reappear when your stored preference expires, you clear your cookies, or this Policy or our cookie practices materially change.

Children

Where we know or reasonably suspect that a visitor is below the applicable digital-consent age under Article 8 GDPR, we do not rely on that child’s consent for non-essential cookies where parental authorisation is legally required.

6. Third-Party Embeds

Some pages may contain embedded third-party content, such as videos or other interactive content.

Where such content would place or access non-essential cookies or similar technologies, it will be blocked until you provide the relevant consent.

7. Managing Cookies

You can review or change your cookie choices at any time using the Cookie settings link available on the Site.

Most browsers also allow you to view, delete or block cookies through their settings.

Please note that blocking all cookies may affect essential Site functionality, including shopping cart and checkout functions.

Deleting cookies from your browser may also delete your saved cookie preferences, which means that the consent banner may appear again on your next visit.

8. Browser Signals

There is currently no universally applicable EU standard requiring websites to respond to the “Do Not Track” browser signal. The Site does not currently respond to Do Not Track signals.

We will review our approach as applicable laws, regulatory guidance and recognised technical standards develop.

9. Your Rights

Where cookies and similar technologies involve the processing of personal data, you may have rights under the GDPR, including the rights to:

  • access your personal data;

  • rectify inaccurate personal data;

  • request erasure where applicable;

  • restrict certain processing;

  • receive certain data in a portable format;

  • object to certain processing;

  • withdraw your consent at any time; and

  • lodge a complaint with a competent supervisory authority.

Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before consent was withdrawn.

For more information about your rights and how we process personal data, please see our Privacy Policy [LINK].

You can also contact us at support@ctrlshiftgames.store.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookies Policy from time to time, including when we introduce new technologies, providers or purposes.

Where a change materially affects your consent choices, we may ask you to provide consent again.

The “Last updated” date at the top of this Policy shows when it was most recently revised.
